Costs of German LNG terminals ballooning

The budget for terminals importing liquefied natural gas to Germany has already grown by more than EUR 3bn.

Germany needed to react quickly to find a replacement for Russian gas flowing through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, and although construction of new terminals for liquefied natural gas has progressed quickly, the German government was compelled to temporarily rent five terminals in order to ensure the flow of natural gas.
