ExxonMobil raises staff pay after record profit

The Big Oil company is raising wages for US personnel following the group booking its largest interim result ever in the third quarter of 2022.

ExxonMobil has decided to increase wages for employees in the US in the wake of the oil company booking record interim profit in this year’s third quarter, reports Bloomberg News.

Workers are getting a wage hike of 9%, whilst recently promoted staff will see their salaries increase by an additional 5%.

US consumer price index data for this year show domestic inflation at 7.7%.

Moreover, 14,000 personnel, equating to one in five Exxon employees, are awarded stock options.

ExxonMobil achieved profit of USD 19.7bn during this year’s Q3.
