Equinor accepts fine following island fire

The Norwegian oil company has decided to pay the fine relating to a fire on Norwegian island Melkøya outside Hammerfest in 2020.

Equinor has accepted a fine of NOK 130m (EUR 11.26m) following the fire at the LNG plant on Melkøya outside the northernmost town in the world, Hammerfest, in September 2020.
