EU wants to change directive to regulate Nord Stream 2

This Wednesday, the EU Commission will process a proposed change to the gas directive, as part of the battle to have a say in the upcoming gas pipeline between Russia and Germany.

The EU Commission has not given up on regulating Nord Stream 2.

The EU Commission has now proposed to extend the rules for the EU internal energy market to apply to offshore pipelines, reports EU media Euractiv, which has gained access to an internal document in which the EU Commission proposes changes to the gas directive.
