Three votes were held in the EU Parliament this Wednesday, and 35 percent seems to be the theme of the day.
A majority of the MEPs voted in favor of a 35 percent target in the coming directive on renewable energy (RED II) and they also voted in favor of setting a binding 35 percent target for energy efficiency by 2030. Both votes mark higher ambition than the proposals from the EU Commission and particularly the EU Council. This suggests that the trilateral negotiations between the three EU bodies will be fierce.
