Germany canceled offshore wind boost ahead of new government coalition

Germany threw out its specific targets for offshore wind development last Friday, just two days before the country's political parties formed a new government coalition.

Germany was brimming with political tension and excitement this past weekend as the social democratic party SPD agreed to join Angela Merkel's conservative CDU to form a government coalition. At the same time, the country's parliament voted Friday on a more rapid expansion of the country's offshore wind farms.
