French nuclear reactors hit by welding faults

At least a handful of French nuclear reactors are impacted by faulty welding, the country's Nuclear Safety Authority asserts. The problem might potentially involve 20 reactors. The generators pose no danger, producer assures.

Tuesday, French state-owned utility EDF informed that it was investigating several French reactors with welding issues on its steam generators. In nuclear power, generators are used to vaporize water from the reactor core. They are in other words an essential component.
