US energy secretary warns against Chinese acquisition

Portuguese utility EDP, one of the very largest wind developers in the US, is welcome to invest further – but the US is "evaluating Chinese investment" in the company, energy secretary says.

Tuesday was a groundbreaking day for EDP Renováveis. The green division of Portugal's largest utility finally gained approval for its first offshore wind project in the US, Mayflower Wind, which it will establish alongside Shell. On the same day, US Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette was on his way to Portugal.
