EU agrees to reduce emissions by "at least 55 percent"

In the years leading up to 2030, the EU pledges to reduce its carbon emissions by "at least 55 percent" relative to 1990 levels after the union's heads of state and government reached an agreement Friday morning, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen writes on Twitter.
