Germany to be climate-neutral by 2045

The German federal government is planning to announce a new national goal next week to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 65 percent by 2030, reports Der Spiegel.

The German federal government plans to launch one of Europe's most ambitious decarbonization schedules. According to Der Spiegel, citing government sources, Germany will in the coming week present a reform of its climate legislation, stipulating a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 65 percent come 2030 and full climate neutrality by 2045.
