Siemens Energy, Sumitomo plan interconnector spanning Irish Sea

Hardware for the 190-kilometer interconnector between Ireland and Wales, Greenlink, will be supplied by Siemens Energy and Sumitomo Electric.

Consortium partners Siemens Energy and Sumitomo Electric have signed a contract with Greenlink Interconnector Limited to carry out engineering and construction work for the planned 500MW transmission line between Southwestern Ireland and the eastern Welsh coast.
