The prime minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, is planning a visit to Moscow next week in an attempt to obtain more supplies of natural gas from Russia.

Orban aims to state his business in a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, he tells Hungarian radio.

Hungary is a member of NATO. The Moscow visit comes at a time of heightened tension between NATO and Russia over Ukraine.

”I would like to increase the amount of gas to be delivered to Hungary from the levels agreed in the Russian-Hungarian gas contract,” says Orban.
