EU nations divided on natural gas and nuclear power inclusion in taxonomy

The European Commission is adding the finishing touches to its green investments taxonomy amid division on what role nuclear and natural gas will play in climate change mitigation efforts.

The last part of the guidelines in the forthcoming EU taxonomy for sustainable investments will be unveiled soon. While the first part was announced in the first half of 2021, a final decision on two energy sources in particular has been a long time coming: nuclear power and natural gas.
