NVE unable to guarantee priority to critical end users in case of power rationing

EnergyWatch has previously been in touch with all operators of electrified facilities on the Norwegian shelf to ask whether they are prioritized end users and thus shielded from power rationing in the even of such a situation – without getting a firm response. Shell suggested contacting Norwegian transmission system operator Statnett, which was unable to respond, referring instead to the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE), which acts as rationing authority.
