MEPs pass fast-track licensing for renewables – also biomass plants

The European Parliament votes to further shorten approval processes for renewable energy projects, also including biomass plants for special zoning, unlike the EU Commission’s original proposal.

Maximum processing time for licensing new renewable energy projects, for instance solar and wind, must take no longer than nine months looking forward, members of the European Parliament decide Wednesday.
