EU rubber stamps nuclear power for hydrogen

EU Commission finally agrees to criteria for when hydrogen can be considered as a renewable – and when it is eligible for exemptions from the methodology.

Nuclear power not only features as a renewable energy source in EU taxonomy. It also counts as renewable, if the electricity from the nuclear plants is used for hydrogen production, according to the annex to the commission delegated regulation for renewable fuels of non-biological origin, RFNBO, as presented by the EU Commission.
