Germany pulls out of EU ban on petrol and diesel cars from 2035

The European Council had agreed with Parliament on the deal back in the fall, but now new German obstruction might put and end to the agreement.

On Tuesday, EU ministers were to rubber stamp a ban on sales of new petrol and diesel cars from 2035, but a German u-turn might cause the proposal to flounder, writes Danish daily Politiken after German Minister for Transport Volker Wissing suddenly announced pulling his support for the phasing out of combustion engine vehicles.
