Tough winter in Sweden – saved by foreign cables
The winter 2022/2023 was the first where Svenske kraftnät (SVK), a Swedish state-owned enterprise and authority, was able to report of a real risk of manual consumption cuts due to electricity shortages. Consumption in the peak hour was lower when compared to earlier years, but the crisis wouldn’t have been relieved without marked increases in import, SVK writes in a press release.
