EU's watchdog wants to remove renewables' advantage

Acer wants to abolish renewables' priority dispatch status in the European electricity grid.

The EU's energy watchdog Acer is questioning renewable energy's place at the top of the queue. Currently, solar and wind have priority dispatch status across many European electricity grids, meaning that energy must be derived from their sources ahead of coal or gas power.
