
The EU's energy watchdog Acer is questioning renewable energy's place at the top of the queue. Currently, solar and wind have priority dispatch status across many European electricity grids, meaning that energy must be derived from their sources ahead of coal or gas power.
However, this is something Acer wants to see changed. Not just for newly-installed renewable energy, but also for already installed sources which have thus far taken precedence, according to a Regulatory White Paper.
