EU extends severe financial sanctions against Russia

The EU's transport and energy sanctions against Russia, its most severe, have now been extended once again. This time, until December.

The European Union is extending its sanctions against Russia due to the country's involvement in Ukraine, according to a tweet from EU Council President Donald Tusk on Thursday night CET during the EU summit in Brussels.

"Agreed. EU will extend economic sanctions against Russia for their lack of implementing the Minsk Agreement," writes Tusk on Twitter.
