US election spells good news for wind industry and Ørsted

Democrats emerged as the big winners in Tuesday's two gubernatorial elections as well as in one crucial mayoral election in the US.

The Democratic Party can boast a double victory, which means a win for renewable energy as well, after Tuesday's gubernatorial elections in the US states of Virginia and New Jersey.

Democrat Phil Murphy, major offshore wind advocate, will take over the governor role in New Jersey from Republican Chris Christie. In Virginia, Ralph Northam will serve as governor succeeding fellow Democrat Terry McAuliffe.
