Danish/Japanese MHI Vestas is headed into a new market. The offshore wind turbine manufacturer is now a technology partner in a new alliance with the aim of constructing offshore wind projects off the southeast coast of Vietnam. Specifically, the parties have selected an area in the development zone Ke Ga, which will be developed over several phases from preliminary studies to construction.
Oslo-based DNV GL is also part of the alliance, as is a consortium under the Vietnamese oil company PetroVietnam and the two Singapore-based companies Renewable Energy Global Solutions and Enterprize Energy.
