Siemens Gamesa lays off 200 employees in the US

The wind turbine manufacturer is laying off more than one in three employees at its US blade factory. The company explains that there is not enough volume in the market.

An increasing number of the upwards of 6,000 layoffs at Siemens Gamesa are now being implemented. The latest redundancies have now taken place in the US, according to an announcement Wednesday, informing that 202 employees will be let go from the blade factory in Fort Madison, Iowa, report media including Tri States Public Radio.
