US wind sector experiences record Q2

Wind energy capacity totaling 18,987 MW is currently under construction in the US, increasing to 37,794 MW if all projects in advanced development stages are counted. This marks a record for the country.

The US wind sector is booming after a very active second quarter, in which over 9,000 MW in wind capacity – including both projects under construction and projects in advanced development – are underway, writes American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) in a press release Thursday.
