Sea ice north of Greenland is melting and drifting away. Researchers had otherwise evaluated it to be very solid.

After two unusually hot periods, the oldest and thickest Arctic sea ice has begun to melt and drift away from the coast, reports both The Guardian and Danish media TV2.
