Ørsted buys US offshore wind specialist

The Danish energy company is paying USD 510 million for 100 percent of equity in US offshore wind firm Deepwater Wind. This expands Ørsted's portfolio of potential projects by up to 3.3 GW.

Whereas the Danish utility and offshore wind project developer has not had the best success in securing project rights in the potentially huge US market, Ørsted is now securing a solid foothold in the country with the acquisition of the company Deepwater Wind, the company writes in a press release.
