Ørsted dives into US offshore wind

Although the deal is not yet formal and approved, and a final decision has not been reached to install Deepwater Wind's offshore wind farm, the utility is already injecting funds into the project.

Ørsted may not be the first offshore wind player to enter the US, but it could well be the biggest. Monday morning, Ørsted flexed its financial muscle and injected USD 510 million on the table for US developer Deepwater Wind, which unlike Ørsted has been successful in the emerging US market.
