German wind tender breaks record for under-subscription

Approximately only half the tendered capacity was subscribed to in the most recent tender which also so prices go up. The industry calls for prompt political action.

Germany continues to face challenges with its onshore wind energy tender model. Although projects with capacity totaling 921 MW have prequalified for this year's fourth tender for 670 MW, German authorities only received subscriptions for around 400 MW, 363 MW of which – corresponding to 54 percent of the total tendered capacity – had grid connection allocated.
