Major Ørsted acquisition could attract wind manufacturers to the US

Contemporary global growth in offshore wind energy is making manufacturers think bigger. Over the last few weeks, MHI Vestas has announced considerable production expansions in both Denmark and the UK. Ørsted's latest 900 MW order for the Greater Changhua project in Taiwan prompted Siemens Gamesa to become the first wind turbine manufacturer to establish domestic nacelle production on the island nation, which is expected to begin rolling out products in 2021.
