Enercon wins order from resurrected market

The German wind turbine manufacturer receives its first north American orders for its E-138 EP3 machines – for a combined capacity of 345 MW.

After several years in slump, the wind energy market in Canada is getting closer to a rebound this year. Shortly before Christmas, Alberta completed a public tender that allocated a weighted average price of CAD 39 (EUR 25.97) per MWh, and Saskatchewan also spun out orders form the new tender system. This is expected to result in the market almost doubling to around 1 GW annually in the coming years.
