Competition tightens on French offshore wind tender

Germany utility E.ON enters a French offshore wind consortium in the midst of selling off renewable energy assets, doubling the buyer's bidding firepower in France's tender.

Imagine if France held a public tender and everyone showed up. This has gradually turned out to be the case with Dunkerque, the French offshore wind tender project site slatted for 500 MW. And yet another industry heavyweight has entered the ring. German utility E.ON, the world's second-largest owner of offshore wind capacity, is joining EDPR and Engie in the existing consortium bidding on the project, the parties inform in a press statement.
