Vattenfall enters collaboration with Microsoft

The Swedish utility will supply the US tech giant's two forthcoming datacenters in Sweden with green power as well as establish necessary grid distribution.

Microsoft is in the process of establishing two large datacenters in Gävle and Sandviken, north of Stockholm, Sweden. As with other datacenters sprouting up around Scandinavia, the facility's massive power consumption will be covered by renewables, for which the US tech giant has entered a collaboration agreement with Vattenfall, the utility informs in a press statement.
