Siemens Gamesa secures finalized order from Egypt

The final investment decision is made for a 250 MW wind project to now be installed five years after the initial agreement was made with Egyptian authorities.

Construction of the Egyptian wind farm West Bakr Wind can now get started. Project developer Lekela, a 60-40 joint venture between investment firm Actis and Mainstream Renewable, has closed a financing deal for the 250 MW facility, located 30 kilometers northwest of Ras Ghareb near the Gulf of Suez, Lekela informs in a statement.
