Statkraft expands South American energy efforts

Statkraft already has a solid presence on the Chilean hydropower market. Now the utility expands with wind after acquiring three wind farms for a total of USD 180 million.

When Norwegian state-owned utility Statkraft's management deemed a number of wind projects less profitable during the start of the year, the utility sought to enter new endeavors, deciding that wind expansion in Norway was not the way to go.
