Siemens Gamesa wins contact for 6.6 MW – onshore – wind turbines

Only eight months after the wind OEM launched its 5 MW machine, an upgraded version is ordered for a Swedish onshore wind farm set to enter operation already in 2021.

At the moment, German offshore wind farm Trianel Borkum II is being installed with 6.3 MW turbines – not exactly the largest models in the offshore class, but still quite large. However, these will be overshadowed by the 6.6 MW units Siemens Gamesa will deliver to Swedish onshore project Skaftåsen.
