Norway's new wind turbines will be shorter and pay higher taxes

Authorities in Norway have now submitted their recommendations for wind turbine policy, entailing items such as more municipal tax revenue, shorter towers as well as the possibility of halting projects in early planning phases.

The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) has delivered its recommendations for tightening regulations on wind turbines – a move introduced by now-former Energy Minister Kjell-Børge Freiberg in the autumn, when the country's framework plan for wind energy was scrapped.
