Siemens Gamesa closes yet another factory

A new confirmed coronavirus infection case prompts the turbine maker to shut its blade factory in Aoiz, Spain.

Wednesday, another covid-19 case appeared among Siemens Gamesa's staff in Spain. A Gamesa Electric employee's infection was confirmed at a new facility in Madrid one week ago, and now another worker at its blade factory in Aoiz has fallen ill. The facility, which employs around 250 workers and accounts for roughly one tenth of the manufacturer's domestic production capacity, has now closed temporarily, Siemens Gamesa tells EnergyWatch.
