Total enters British offshore wind

The oil firm makes good on its stated ambitions within offshore wind by acquiring the majority of a floating wind project off the coast of Wales. We have the skills to determine floating wind's future success, CEO asserts.

For the first time, Total makes good on its plans to enter the offshore wind industry. The French oil firm has signed an agreement with developer Simply Blue Energy to buy 80 percent of development project Erebus of 96 MW, slated to be built at a 70-meter depth in the Celtic Sea off the coast of Wales, Total informs.
