Nordex considers reopening US factory

The German OEM's US nacelle factory closed down in 2013 but could reopen again if the trade war continues, says Nordex, eying major potential in the country after 2021.

For the second year in a row, the US was Nordex' most important market in 2019. The western world's largest wind power market, counting installation, comprised almost a quarter of the turbine maker's combined activity, which has also held true in terms of North American order intake, whose value of EUR 1.132 billion was more than twice as high as the preceding year – both in a relative sense as well as in real numbers.
