Developer strikes deal for 500 MW in zero-subsidy solar farms

Danish developer Greengo enters partnership with German utility Encavis to finance eight large-scale solar farms in Denmark, several of these exceeding 100 MW. Now it's time to show that solar is the cheapest form of energy in Denmark, CEO asserts.

The expansion of – subsidy-free – solar energy in Denmark is accelerating in earnest. While politicians are busy negotiating about energy islands for offshore wind power and maturing green hydrogen, Danish project developer Greengo has struck a deal with Germany's Encavis to finance eight solar plants with a combined capacity of more than 500 MW. Projects to be established without tender schemes or other kinds of state-run fuss.
