Siemens Gamesa gets first service deal for Senvion offshore wind units

The OEM will service offshore wind turbines at the challenged German facility, Trianel Borkum II, but initially for only a limited period.

In May, the final unit of 32 wind turbines was installed at German offshore wind farm Trianel Borkum II. The facility was meant to be finished last year – if for nothing else to make it on time to qualify for the country's EEG subsidies – but Senvion's collapse got in the way, as the wind farm consists of the defunct OEM's model 6.3152 machines.
