Aker lays large bid for wind developer

Aker launches a new business area with the purchase of a developer that will build Europe's largest onshore wind farm along with a Chinese company. The group is already underway installing wind turbines near the Crimean peninsula.

On the same day as Aker Solutions released a range of large changes, ranging from the replacement of its chief executive, the re-merger with Kværner as well as spinning off offshore wind and carbon storage operation, Kjell Inge Røkke's parent company, Aker ASA, also had some big news to report. In connection with its H1 interim report, the company revealed the launch of a new business that will develop and operate renewable energy projects.
