Texas bill to tighten requirements for solar, wind

After the major blackouts seen during February's supreme cold, the senate of the most windy US state has passed a bill that will impose million-dollar day fines on wind and solar farms if they don't supply during critical events.

Few had seen it coming when Texas was hit by icy cold winter winds and following blackouts in February. What was perhaps less surprising was that many were quick to name a scapegoat: the federal state's wind turbines and solar panels.
