GE strikes big deal in Germany for new 6-MW units

The US-based turbine maker continues its march into the German market with a purchase agreement for 300 MW, of which the first third will be established in a spent coal mine.

Czech energy firm EPH is probably best known as a coal-fired power generator. However, the company seems to also have an eye for wind and carbon quotas – in any event, its subsidiary EP New Energies (EPNE) has signed a purchase agreement with GE Renewable Energy on wind turbines totaling 300 MW to be installed across Germany.
