Vestas upgrades its largest onshore turbine

Following orders for several Enventus turbines, Vestas is scaling up the size of its largest onshore model as part of a new Finnish project. There is a need for far larger turbines if Vestas is to handle the next phase of the wind farm.

With a 192-MW order, the sale of the Enventus platform in Finland is rapidly approaching 1.4 GW for Vestas, an approximation that also comes in a slightly upgraded version, as the order is for 31 V162-6.2 MW turbines. This marks the first time the wind turbine manufacturer is selling a version that is power-optimized to generate more than 6 MW.
