German onshore wind passes lower threshold
Germany's onshore wind build-out increased 60 percent in the first half of 2021 compared to the same time last year. However, "indescribably complicated" approval processes still prevent the sector from filling up tenders and fulfilling government expansion goals.
With a total installed capacity of 971MW in the first half of 2021, the expansion of Germany's wind energy on land increases again following several years seeing marked declines and then careful growth in 2020.
