Siemens Gamesa invests GBP 186m in blade factory

With an expansion by 41,600 square meters, Siemens Gamesa doubles its production facilities in Hull, the UK, creating 200 jobs in the city.

Since its opening in 2016, wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa's factory in Hull on the eastern British coast has produced more than 15,000 turbine blades. Now, the plant will grow to 77,600 square meters – more than double the current area – and with an investment of GBP 186m, production of next-generation blades is set to take off in the city by 2023, the company expects.
