Scatec falls short of 5.9GW target

The South African government has postponed the approval process for a national power utility overhaul that would otherwise have awarded the Norwegian developer 540MW before the end of the year, with Scatec thereby not fulfilling its 2021 objective.

South Africa's approval process for the national Risk Mitigation Independent Power Procurement Programme (RMIPP) has been postponed to the misfortune of Norwegian project develop Scatec, forced to see its projects delayed and growth goal for 2021 disappear on the horizon.
