Polytech in big layoff round CEO couldn't foresee in May

Unresolved problems behind grand climate ambitions around the world now force Polytech to lay off a large group of staff. CEO says the business it preparing for the tide turning again, hopefully to the benefit of Denmark, while admitting the necessity of following the big manufacturers.

The clock ticked just past 11 p.m. Thursday evening when Polytech Chief Executive Mads Kirkegaard arrived at home – after a working day that wasn't just long but was busy for all the wrong reasons. The prospect of a dwindling task pipeline had prompted the CEO to announce laying off 70 of the company's roughly 850 personnel.
