Developer to move wind farm section out of consideration for Sami and reindeer

The third stage of wind farm Raggovidda will be relocated to avoid straining local reindeer herding, says Varanger Kraft after meeting with indigenous Sami.

The area meant to host the third phase of wind farm Raggovidda in Finnmark, Northern Norway, will be moved – at least if both developer Varanger Kraft and indigenous Sami have their way. Since development of the facility began in 2005, new knowledge has prompted parties to reconsider wind turbine placement, reports domestic sector media Europower Energi.
